With the controller's right arm extended forward, a vehicle approaching from his left side may travel in any direction, so the red car on that approach may continue straight. The motorcycle at his chest may only turn right, while the bus at his back and the blue car at his right side must remain stopped; those approaches therefore provide no straight movement for the grouped vehicles.
