Which statements about the energy changes in photosynthesis are true? Select all that apply.
Light energy is transferred to chemical energy held in the sugar made✓Richtige Antwort
The plant creates brand new energy out of the raw materials it absorbs
The soil supplies the energy that the plant stores in its sugar
The energy a plant later releases from its sugar originally came from light✓Richtige Antwort
Erklärung
Photosynthesis is an energy transfer rather than an energy source: energy arriving as light ends up held in the chemical bonds of the sugar a leaf builds, and that same energy is what the plant draws on later. Energy cannot be brought into existence, and the soil supplies moisture and dissolved minerals rather than any energy of its own.
