What is the approximate open-circuit voltage produced by a fully illuminated silicon photovoltaic cell?
توضیح
A single illuminated silicon photovoltaic cell develops only about half a volt open-circuit no matter how large it is, which is why panels string dozens of cells in series to reach a useful voltage. About 0.7 V is the forward drop of a conducting silicon diode, 1.1 V is silicon's band gap in volts, and 1.5 V is a dry-cell figure.
