Which term names the strong central tower of a stone castle?
The gatehouse, the fortified gate block
The curtain wall, the wall between the towers
The keep, the great tower at the castle's heart✓پاسخ درست
The dungeon, meaning a cell dug below ground
توضیح
This tower, also called the donjon, held the lord's hall and private chamber and served as the last strongpoint if the outer defences were carried. The underground prison fails because the modern English word for it grew out of the older name for that very tower, while the tower itself rose high above the courtyard rather than lying beneath it.
