What accompanied Napoleon's military expedition when it entered Egypt in 1798?
A Roman senate charged with annexing Egypt
Only merchants seeking cedar from Byblos
Scholars documenting monuments and the natural world✓Bonne réponse
The builders who first carved the Abu Simbel temples
Explication
The invading force traveled with scholars who recorded Egypt's monuments, terrain, plants, and animals. Their research was significant, but describing the venture as only scientific would erase the military conquest that enabled it.
