An Asia timeline leaves Ayutthaya in the present-day capital slot for Thailand. Which city should replace it?

Explication

Bangkok should replace Ayutthaya because Bangkok is Thailand's current national capital. Ayutthaya was a historical capital, so its earlier role does not satisfy a present-day question.
