Which mode is most commonly used for SSB voice communications in the VHF and UHF bands?

SSB weak-signal work on 6 meters, 2 meters and above follows the same practice as HF operation above 10 MHz and uses USB. Standard VHF and UHF SSB calling frequencies are based on that convention.
