When does a plant respire?

Only at night, when it cannot photosynthesise
All the time, both day and nightՃիշտ պատասխան
Only in the day, while its leaves are making sugar
Only when it is growing quickly in spring

Բացատրություն

Respiration supplies the energy for everything a plant does, and those demands never pause, so the process runs without a break. The popular picture of two processes taking turns at sunrise and sunset is wrong, because only the sugar-making one depends on light, and a plant that is not visibly growing still has cells to keep alive.
