What does respiration do for a plant?

It makes the food that the plant needs to grow
It makes new energy for the plant out of nothing
It releases stored energy the plant uses to grow and liveՃիշտ պատասխան
It stores away the energy that arrived at the leaf as light

Բացատրություն

The energy a plant needs for building new tissue and for every other life process comes from breaking sugar down, so respiration is the supplier of usable energy rather than the store of it. Energy cannot be conjured out of nothing, food is made by a different reaction altogether, and the process that puts energy into store is the one that runs on light.
