Which part of a flower produces pollen?

Explanation

Pollen forms inside the anther, the swollen head carried at the top of the male part of the flower, and is released from there onto a visiting insect or into the moving air. The sticky surface where pollen must land later is often mistaken for where it was made, but arrival and manufacture happen at opposite ends of the journey.
