Build three evidence chains
For crusading history, first separate pilgrimage from military expedition. A crusade was summoned by papal authority and involved armed forces directed toward Jerusalem and its region. The First Crusade followed Urban II's late-eleventh-century appeal and achieved a result at Jerusalem that later crusades did not make lasting. Innocent III belongs with a later expedition, so pope, sequence and outcome must be checked together.
For Magna Carta, connect pressure, ruler and limits. In 1215 English barons compelled King John to agree to stated customs. The document placed the ruler under rules, restricted some taxation without consent and protected free men from imprisonment without lawful judgement. It did not create modern democracy, establish equal rights for everyone or complete England's later constitutional development.
For plague, follow transport before consequences. The Black Death reached European Mediterranean ports in 1347, moved along commercial sea routes from the Black Sea, and then travelled inland over the following years. School accounts use the cautious estimate of about one third of Europe's population, not an exact continent-wide percentage. A resulting shortage of labour improved bargaining power in parts of Europe, but local outcomes differed and serfdom did not disappear everywhere.
