The 2025 test changes the bank and the standard exam rule
The 2008 test uses 100 questions and asks up to 10, with 6 correct required. The 2025 test uses 128 questions and asks up to 20, with 12 correct required. Your N-400 filing date decides which version applies.

What does not change
Both are oral civics tests administered by USCIS. Both include answers that can change because of elections or appointments and answers that depend on location. The applicable official material remains the source of truth.
